2026 WEBINARS
WEBINAR 1: Monday 23rd November, 9am – 10am CET + 5pm – 6pm CET
CSP: A New Technology for Deploying Certified Applets Across Multiple Platforms (GlobalPlatform)
Presenter: Gil Bernabeu, Chief Technology Officer, GlobalPlatform
Biography: In his role as Chief Technology Officer, Gil is responsible for defining and implementing the technical roadmap for the organization and provides counsel and guidance to the GlobalPlatform Board. He drives forward the development of GlobalPlatform’s specifications and certifications to allow markets and geographies to deploy and manage secure, value-added services. Gil also acts as GlobalPlatform’s central technical liaison point, coordinating the efforts of the technical committees, market task forces and liaisons with industry partners.
Webinar Overview: The Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP) introduces an approach designed to reduce security risks by separating cryptographic assets—such as keys, credentials, and management policies—from the application runtime.
By establishing a clear boundary between functional features, security operations, and the Common Criteria certification process, CSP can help reduce application development time and costs. It also aims to enable an application to be certified once and deployed across multiple CSP-certified platforms.
This presentation will introduce the CSP concept and provide an overview of the related documentation published by GlobalPlatform.

He started working as a smart card software engineer in 2003 and has been using Java Card technology ever since. At Infineon, he leads a team of system architects who help customers integrate hardware-based security into their designs, by providing security solutions for payments, identity, IoT, consumer electronics and automotive. As a member of the Java Card Forum Business Committee, he is also involved in the standardisation of Java Card technology.
Presenter: Thomas Leutgeb, Senior Principal System Architect NFC, Infineon
Biography: Coming soon
Webinar Overview: We will provide an overview of the particularities of Java Card deployment in NFC systems. We will explore how the physical limitations of NFC—such as limited power availability, strict communication windows, and air interface latency—impact system architecture, performance optimization, and application design. Attendees will gain insight into the specific transmission protocols (including ISO/IEC 14443 and EMVCo standards) that govern data exchange between the card and the reader, and how these protocols influence security and reliability.
This webinar will offer practical insights into leveraging Java Card’s robust security model within the fast-paced world of NFC technology.
